They wouldn’t. Hydro-gate is total insanity. Nobody would voluntarily get into this mess..
In the first round, I just signed up for a job challenge. It seemed reasonable at the time.
Before the job challenge had been heard, it was blatantly obvious that Jim Brown was scamming the Corporation, and I signed up to do my civic duty: to bring basic justice. Since Management get fired if they covered up criminal fraud, I made the (naïve?) assumption that VP Dane MacCarthy would ‘do the right thing’. It totally offended my sense of civic duty to have the case whitewashed.
STAGE 2. Internal "Mismanagement, Fraud and Corruption"
Next up after Dane MacCarthy had made a mess was Maurice Strong . Major international name, highly experienced executive; how could Maurice Strong screw up? But he did. By this time, I was so well entrenched, and had invested so much mental energy (and some money) that I couldn’t have backed out if I wanted to. Besides, Sharon had died and Hydro-gate was in a stalemate.

Let’s not even talk about my union (The Society), and it’s activities. Suffice to say, I was warned about lying union lawyers.

Now I am free to contact anybody: the police, the media, the public. Best of all, talking to people about Hydro-gate has been the best medicine. That’s why Sharon’s death was survivable: like women say, "you gotta talk about it".
