JANET

Janet was my biggest supporter and biggest helper. This case would have gone nowhere without her.

At first, Janet was the purchasing clerk, in charge of Metallurgical Research. In late-1992, I told Janet about my problems within the Department, and she whispered that the real problem was that "Jim Brown was scamming the Corporation". She told me whom to contact, how much, who was involved … all the details. No wonder Jim Brown was making such horrendous decisions. Janet volunteered to be a witness for the investigation.

The Internal Audit investigation only interviewed Janet, none of my other three witnesses. No great surprise to us; Ontario Hydro only cared about was its legal rights. Criminal activities over-rode Hydro’s legal rights, so they had better know about any fraud. Back came the whitewash letter. DANE MACCARTHY 2

When my spouse died from leukemia, Janet arranged me a special meeting with John Murphy, President of the PWU. John put in a special plea to Maurice Strong, which wasn’t successful.

Janet became the PWU OHT rep, and continued to be useful. She provided me with feedback, information and generally kept me straight.

Last I heard, she had developed multiple sclerosis, and was on Long Term Disability.
